EZAC is a brand new high strength, creep resistant, hot chamber zinc based die casting alloy developed by Eastern Alloys. Most notably, EZAC has these advantages over the other zinc alloys:
Using tests comparing EZAC with Zamak 2, there were improvements of over 19% when using EZAC.
2. CREEP RESISTANT
The process of components warping or malforming over time is called Creep. This can occur because of elevated temperatures and other physical stresses. Many zinc alloys have a reputation for having lower creep resistance which may take them out of the running for applications with higher functional temperatures.
3. HIGH TEMP TENSILE PROPERTIES
EZAC has exceptional tensile strength, even more so than the other hot chamber zinc alloys.
4. TENSILE STRENGTH
EZAC is the strongest hot chamber zinc die casting alloy available. It has a yield strength of 396 MPa, which is even higher than ZA-27 (Cold chamber alloy), the strongest Zamak alloy with a yield strength of 379 MPa.
Considering EZAC’s strength, it’s unusual but exciting that it has such high fluidity and low casting temperature (780-825 F). Beyond these excellent casting properties, EZAC also has long lasting durability qualities which distinguish it from the Zamak alloys.
Trials have shown that when other high strength die casting alloys exhibit component erosion and wear, EZAC’s wear and erosion is minimal.
