1 - Wide Variety of Finishes
Zinc alloys are much less expensive to finish and there are a wide variety of options for finishing. From galvanizing for long lasting strength to beautiful satin chrome finishes, zinc is versatile in its finishing capabilities and its superior surface texture makes it an economical choice over other materials such as aluminum.

2 - 8-10x Greater Tool Life
The tools for zinc die cast components have exceptionally long lives. A zinc die cast tool usually lasts around 1 million shots, whereas an aluminum tool will typically only last 100,000 to 200,000 shots. For parts with high volumes, zinc will always be a money saver in tooling costs.

Another one of zinc’s advantageous casting properties is its fluidity. Zinc has the ability to be cast thinner and more precisely than aluminum. This makes it an easy favorite for components with intricate details or thinner walls.

Hot chamber die casting is the process that all zinc die casters use. It’s different than cold chamber die casting because there is no pouring of the molten metal into the gooseneck. This makes hot chamber much faster because the metal comes directly from the chamber underneath and there’s no wait time for filling.
